POSITION SUMMARY: Assist districts with student attendance accounting issues and provide student accounting services to districts. Provide training and technical support for ASCENDER software student applications. Assist with training and technical support for data collections and systems. Provide information on student accounting issues and student software applications to districts.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: High School Diploma
PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree in the areas of Education, Computer Science, Business or other related degree. Working knowledge of Student Attendance Accounting Handbook (SAAH); Student ASCENDER software experience;
Working knowledge of TEA data collection standards and systems. Minimum two years experience with computer/application/information systems and/or software.
EXPERIENCE: Mulitple years of experience working in the targeted areas within student attendance accounting and TSDS data collections.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Skilled in presenting and data analysis
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide student attendance accounting services and guidance to districts
2. Provide training and consulting assistance with student attendance accounting
3. Provide training and consulting assistance for ASCENDER software student and administrative applications
4. Provide training and consulting assistance to districts in data collections and systems for student data
5. Provide analysis of student data submitted in data collections
6. In the ESC State Base grant, provide technical assistance, training, information and resources as defined and approved by TEA
7. Read, understand, and consistently apply or adhere to ESC policy and procedures
8. Promote departmental and interdepartmental teamwork
9. Stay abreast of trends and best practices in student accounting and data collections
10. Demonstrate ability to make informed decisions about subject matter and most suitable presentation format for target audience
11. Maintain confidentiality with regard to sensitive or protected information
12. Express ideas and information effectively in both oral and written form
13. Respond to client service requests in a timely manner
14. Demonstrate flexibility in responding to clients' and ESC's changes in priorities and needs
15. Organize ideas for logical presentation and acceptance of topic by users
16. Excel in presenting technical, complex, or theoretical information in a way that makes it useful to the target audience
17. Provide information to relevant audiences in a timely manner
18. Plan for and implement sound office procedures to efficiently and effectively complete assignments and projects according to priorities and deadlines
19. Develop sound action plans for meeting annual job targets
20. Other duties as assigned
