Job Duties: 

  • Serve as Doma's named, licensed escrow officer in Texas, maintaining an active TDI license in good standing and personally accountable for regulatory compliance of escrow activity conducted under that license. 
  • Own compliance with TDI requirements, including bonding, continuing education, recordkeeping, and any escrow-related filings or audits. 
  • Monitor Texas escrow, title, and real estate closing regulations, flagging changes that affect Doma's products, processes, or client obligations, and translating regulatory requirements into operational practice. 
  • Act as the internal subject-matter expert on Texas escrow requirements for Legal, Compliance, Product, and leadership. 
  • Help stand up strategic partnerships with large national settlement agents and attorneys that supporting company initiatives  
  • Develop and help deploy "lights-out" enablement materials — tools, training, and workflows that let agent clients of every size, from large national settlement agents to small and midsize agents, operate independently on Doma's platform. 
  • Serve as a point of contact for product questions and service escalations from agent clients, ensuring timely, high-quality resolution. 
  • Support optimization of Doma's business relationships, helping ensure production workflows and service delivery stay aligned. 
  • Evaluate state-specific title and escrow regulatory requirements to advise on Doma's expansion into new markets and geographies. 
  • Monitor the production team's title search and exam output for quality, accuracy, and regulatory soundness. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage and reduce manual exceptions in the title production process. 
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that improve how Doma delivers title production services at scale. 
  • Represent the voice of agent clients and the production team in product roadmap discussions, surfacing requirements, edge cases, and regulatory constraints early in the design process. 
  • Identify opportunities to productize manual or ad hoc processes and test, pilot, and refine them before broader rollout, leveraging firsthand title and escrow expertise to validate scalability. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Active, current Texas escrow officer license issued by the Texas Department of Insurance (required at time of application)  
  • 5+ years of experience in title, escrow, or real estate closing operations, with direct exposure to Texas regulatory requirements. 
  • Prior experience at a title insurance underwriter, title agency, proptech company, or real estate technology platform. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to clients and senior stakeholders. 
  • Comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a role with no direct precedent or template inside the organization. 
  • Must reside in Texas and be available for remote work with occasional travel to clients or Doma offices. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience with title production automation, or a strong interest in how search and exam workflows can be automated. 
  • Strong analytical and process-design skills, with the ability to translate regulatory and operational complexity into clear, actionable plans. 
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following: business operations, strategy or management consulting, product development, or client success/account management. 
  • Prior people or cross-functional project leadership experience. 

Shown below is the lowest to highest base salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.  An employee's pay position within the base salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.  At Doma, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

This job is also eligible for the following compensation components: Bonus

The base salary range for this role is shown below:
$72,900—$105,300 USD
