Job description

Job Description

Make great operations the standard at every Fox location, market by market.

Fox Rent A Car is seeking a Director of Operational Excellence to own the company's operational performance at every counter, lot, and market across its US airport network. You take proven operating playbooks off the shelf and put them to work where it counts, standardizing how Fox operates so strong results become the norm at every location. This is a builder's seat for an operator who has lived inside a high-velocity consumer business, knows what great looks like, and has the systems, metrics, and coaching instincts to make it stick across many markets at once.

Your Primary Focus Is To:

Standardize How Fox Runs

  • Standardize branch workflows and operating procedures across the airport network to ensure performance remains consistent from market to market.
  • Establish and standardize operational KPIs, including labor productivity, revenue per day, upsell conversion rate, and customer satisfaction.
  • Improve labor productivity and scheduling efficiency at the branch level.
  • Drive fleet turnaround and vehicle-readiness discipline that protect revenue days.
  • Streamline daily operations and recover the cost trapped in operational waste.

Build Winning Counter Habits

  • Deploy Lean and continuous improvement practices at the location level and coach teams to sustain them.
  • Build repeatable counter sales and upsell habits that lift performance while keeping frontline teams energized.

Coach Leaders Who Sustain the Gains

  • Coach and enable General Managers and Regional Directors so improvements hold long after you leave the market.
  • Partner with the Managing Director and senior leadership on transformation priorities and report progress against measurable targets.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Eight or more years of operational leadership experience, including multi-site continuous improvement or operational excellence.
  • A track record of standardizing operations and improving measurable performance across multiple locations.
  • Experience building and coaching frontline or counter sales performance programs.
  • Car rental or fleet-based field operations experience strongly preferred.

We're Looking For:

  • Hands-on continuous improvement experience is essential, and Lean or Six Sigma certification is a welcome plus.
  • Fluency in operational metrics such as productivity, revenue per day, upsell conversion rate, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong coaching and change management skills that drive adoption and keep teams on board.
  • The ability to standardize processes across locations that each believes are different.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving turnaround environment with a clear sense of urgency.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50 percent across multiple markets.

Compensation & Benefits

This role is exempt and pays $180-190K

Employees have access to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with prescription savings, along with a 401k retirement plan. The role includes paid holidays and an accrued vacation program, and employees may also be eligible for a range of paid and unpaid leave benefits, including sick leave, medical leave, family care leave, military leave, bereavement leave, and other legally required leave, with specific accrual rates and entitlements varying based on hours worked, length of service, and work location. Additional benefits include flexible spending accounts, a health savings account where applicable, employer-paid basic life insurance, optional supplemental life insurance, pet insurance, an employee assistance program, employee discounts on car rentals, and commuter benefits. Employees are also covered by basic life insurance at no cost, with the option to purchase voluntary term life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, accident insurance, and critical illness insurance. Identity theft protection and legal benefits round out the package.
