Brewery Operations Manager

South Padre Island, TX โ€ข On-site

Job description

Space Craft Ales is a new destination craft brewery and taproom opening on South Padre Island, Texas, and weโ€™re looking for an experienced, hands-on Brewery Operations Manager to join our team as we prepare to launch.

This is an opportunity to get in at the ground floor of a new brewery and help build the systems, standards and culture that will carry us well beyond opening day.

The Role

Our Brewery Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of brewery operations and will work closely with ownership and our off-site brewmaster, who will oversee recipe development and the overall beer program.

Weโ€™re looking for someone who understands how a brewery actually runsโ€”not just how beer gets brewed. Youโ€™ll help coordinate production, maintain quality and consistency, manage inventory and raw materials, oversee equipment and sanitation, support regulatory compliance, and make sure the brewery side of the operation runs safely and efficiently.

This is a handsโ€‘on position. Weโ€™re a startup brewery, so the right person will be equally comfortable developing an SOP, troubleshooting equipment, receiving a delivery, checking inventory, cleaning a tank, and figuring out what needs to happen next.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day brewery and production operations
  • Coordinate brewing and production schedules with our off-site brewmaster
  • Execute established recipes, processes and quality standards
  • Oversee cellar operations, fermentation, transfers, carbonation and packaging
  • Maintain rigorous cleaning, sanitation and safety standards
  • Manage raw materials, finished beer and brewery inventory
  • Coordinate ordering and receiving of ingredients and brewery supplies
  • Maintain production records and assist with TABC and other regulatory compliance
  • Monitor brewery equipment and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, checklists and operational procedures
  • Coordinate kegging and product preparation for taproom and distribution
  • Work closely with taproom operations to maintain product availability and quality
  • Help recruit, train and supervise additional brewery/operations staff as we grow
  • Assist ownership with continuous improvement of brewery operations
What Weโ€™re Looking For

Weโ€™re less concerned with a particular job title than we are with finding someone who knows brewery operations, takes ownership and likes solving problems.

The ideal candidate has professional brewery experience and a strong working knowledge of cellar operations, sanitation, quality control, draft/packaging systems and brewery equipment.

You should be organized, mechanically inclined, comfortable working independently and willing to jump in wherever needed. Experience helping launch or scale a brewery is a major plus.

Formal brewing education or industry certifications are welcomed, but practical experience and good judgment matter to us just as much.

About Space Craft Ales

Space Craft Ales is being built as a destination craft brewery and taproom on South Padre Island. Our beer program will include approachable island favorites alongside rotating craft styles, with beer produced for both our taproom and distribution.

Weโ€™re building something from scratch, which means this isnโ€™t a position where youโ€™ll inherit years of โ€œthatโ€™s how weโ€™ve always done it.โ€ The person we hire will have a meaningful role in establishing how our brewery operates from day one.

And yesโ€”your workplace happens to be on South Padre Island.

Location: South Padre Island, Texas
Position: Full-time
Start Date: Late 2026 / Prior to Opening
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience
