The Role
We are looking for a Solutions Engineer with a strong technology background with the ability to translate that into business value. This position provides the opportunity to support global business development of the VertiGIS telecommunications solutions portfolio by defining and bringing to life solutions that demonstrate our business value. You'll support one-to-one and one-to-many interactions, promoting and advising on the value of VertiGIS telecommunications products and services - over the phone, in the boardroom, and on the big stage! Fundamental to this role is the ability to build applications that show how our technology solves real world problems - starting with the business problem through to the technology solution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and product expertise to our sales team, prospective customers, and partners during the sales process.
  • Create and showcase product demonstration solutions for prospective customers and partners.
  • Develop and maintain an enterprise level demonstration environment that includes our telecom software solutions suite and GIS technologies.
  • Coordinate the resolution of technical/product issues that arise during the sales process.
  • Work with customers and partners to maximize the benefits of our technology.
  • Translate prospect business requirements into architecture and design specifications that align with VertiGIS implementation strategies.
  • Define and craft proof of concept applications based on prospective customer business requirements.
  • Support and deliver presentations, training, and workshops at marketing events.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing to define and develop internal and external product solution marketing resources.
  • Work closely with the products team to identify and position key capabilities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop in-depth technical knowledge of our products and their value proposition.
  • Educate sales and partner teams on the business value of our products and GIS enabled architecture and solutions.

  • 5+ years experience in a similar or related role.
  • Experience/aptitude for Product Management, Product Marketing, Technical Presales, or Solutions Engineering with a telecom software company.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills .
  • Proven ability to present information well to various audiences.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines .
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Business analysis or solution architecture experience.
  • Understanding of geography, GIS, and Esri technology.
  • Diploma or degree in computer science, engineering, Telecommunications, geography, geomatics, business administration, or related discipline.

  • Experience in any of the following would be a distinct advantage:
    • Working for a telecom inventory management and planning software vendor, e.g. Ericsson Network Engineer.
    • Hands-on experience as an expert user of a similar software platform.
