Job description

RiVidium is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer / Platform Reliability Engineer to support our planned MODES III team supporting Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP). This role supports IT, Cybersecurity, and Data Operations ? Modernization & Innovation and helps deliver mission-focused outcomes for service members, families, and related stakeholders. Ensures PWS C.5.3 operational reliability; maintains privileged system access, implements monitoring automation aligned to RMF controls, and supports ATO sustainment through 24/7 availability engineering, incident response, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support platform reliability, availability, and operational resilience across supported services.
  • Monitor performance, identify reliability risks, and help improve stability and recovery outcomes.
  • Work with cloud and development teams on observability, automation, and service health improvements.
  • Contribute to performance tuning, incident follow-up, and reliability reporting.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor?s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Relevant experience aligned to the role and labor category; openings may be filled at Senior (10-15 yrs).
  • Ability to satisfy applicable Government personnel security requirements for the assigned role. For IT and cybersecurity workforce positions, applicable DoD 8140 training and certification requirements will apply upon award.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills in a mission-focused delivery environment.
  • Hands-on experience with tools, platforms, or engineering practices relevant to the role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-native engineering, application delivery, automation, or reliability engineering, as applicable to the role.
  • Familiarity with secure software delivery, testing, DevSecOps, or performance engineering practices.
  • Experience supporting modernization efforts in regulated or mission-critical environments.

Work Setting

This role is expected to support work in the Alexandria, Virginia area, with on-site support at the DoD Mark Center or other customer-approved locations as required. Hybrid support in the Alexandria, Virginia area is expected, with on-site support as required by the customer.
