Job description

Service Director

Lil Vic is looking for a Service Director to help lead the opening of our new wood-fired French bistro, set in a beautifully restored 126-year-old Victorian farmhouse. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to build something special from the ground up.

The Service Director will work hand in hand with the Chef/Owner to develop and maintain exceptional service standards, build systems that set our team up for success, and recruit, train, and inspire an outstanding front-of-house team.

This is more than a management position—it's a leadership role for someone who is passionate about hospitality and believes that memorable dining experiences begin with genuine, thoughtful service.

The right person for the Service Director position will display the following traits:
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
  • A passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing people
  • A deep appreciation for wine, food, and beverage culture
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for discovering new products and ideas
  • A commitment to excellence by helping others exceed expectations
  • Strong leadership with the ability to inspire, motivate, and build a positive team culture
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work alongside every member of the team
The skills needed to excel in this role:
  • Proven leadership experience in fine dining or elevated full-service restaurants
  • Exceptional guest relations and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of wine and beverage service
  • Experience developing service standards and training programs
  • Working knowledge of POS and reservation systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail

This role is for someone who wants to be part of what is happening. It's not about sitting in the office or simply managing schedules. It's about leading from the floor, collaborating with the team, building relationships with guests, and creating a culture that people are excited to be part of.

We're looking for someone with fine dining experience who wants to bring elevated hospitality to a relaxed, welcoming, and fun environment. Someone who believes great service isn't scripted—it's authentic, intentional, and delivered by a team that feels empowered to be their best every day.

If you're excited about building a restaurant culture from the ground up and creating an unforgettable guest experience, we'd love to meet you.
