Job Description
Director, Social Media
The Director of social media will lead the strategic vision, channel strategy, and execution of social across all platforms for David Yurman. This role is responsible for elevating brand storytelling, driving cultural relevance, and delivering measurable business impact through best-in-class, insight-led social and content strategies.
Reporting into Vice-President, Brand Strategy & Partnerships, this leader will oversee a team of three, with one direct report, and partner cross-functionally to ensure social is fully integrated across campaigns, product storytelling, and full-funnel marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Channel Leadership
  • Define and lead a holistic, platform-specific channel strategy, outlining the role of each platform (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn) across the marketing funnel
  • Establish clear objectives, content pillars, and audience strategies by channel to drive both brand equity and performance
  • Identify emerging platforms, formats, and cultural moments to future-proof the brand's social presence

Content & Creative Oversight
  • Partner with Creative, Editorial, and Brand teams to develop and brief social-first content that is both aspirational and performance-driven
  • Ensure all content ladders back to channel strategy, with clear intent by platform and format
  • Oversee always-on and campaign content, including video, talent partnerships, and behind-the-scenes storytelling, maintaining strong brand guardianship

Analytics-Driven Planning & Optimization
  • Lead with a data-first mindset, using performance analytics, audience insights, and social listening to inform strategy and creative decisions
  • Translate insights into forward-looking content planning, optimizing messaging, formats, and platform investment over time
  • Establish robust testing frameworks to continuously refine content, cadence, and channel mix
  • Own KPI development, reporting, and performance benchmarks, ensuring clear measurement of both brand and business impact

Full-Funnel Integration
  • Ensure social plays a defined and measurable role across the full marketing funnel-from awareness through conversion
  • Partner with Media and Performance teams to optimize paid social strategies, audience targeting, and creative effectiveness
  • Align organic and paid strategies to maximize reach, efficiency, and ROI

Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of three, with one direct report
  • Foster a culture of strategic thinking, creativity, agility, and accountability, grounded in both brand excellence and performance rigor
  • Build clear processes for content planning, approvals, and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications
  • 8-10+ years of experience in social media strategy within luxury, fashion, beauty, or lifestyle brands
  • Strong experience developing channel strategies with a clear understanding of platform roles and audience behaviors
  • Proven ability to leverage analytics and insights to drive strategic decisions and future planning
  • Experience managing and developing teams
  • Deep knowledge of social platforms and evolving trends, with a strong luxury aesthetic sensibility
  • Highly collaborative, with experience working across creative, media, and marketing functions
  • Analytical mindset with fluency in social metrics, testing frameworks, and performance optimization

Estimate Salary Range: $165-$175k
