Job description

The Director of Social & Influencer leads Best Buy’s Social Center of Excellence (COE), owning the strategy, roadmap, and performance of the company’s paid, owned, and earned social ecosystem. This role drives customer engagement and incremental advertising revenue through innovative social media and influencer programs, while leading a high-performing team, developing scalable social advertising solutions, and cultivating strategic relationships with platform partners, agencies, and key stakeholders.
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in NYC. You can work virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll do
  • Lead Best Buy’s social and influencer strategy across paid and channels, establishing the vision and roadmap for social engagement and advertising growth.
  • Build and scale social and influencer advertising offerings across Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, and emerging platforms to drive incremental revenue.
  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of social and influencer professionals, building capabilities that support content, community management, and advertising objectives.
  • Oversee the activation and optimization of RMN and enterprise paid social campaigns through internal and agency partners while integrating influencer and organic social strategies.
  • Manage strategic relationships with platform partners, agencies, and executive stakeholders to drive innovation, business planning, and social performance results.
Basic qualifications
  • 10+ years of social media, influencer marketing, digital media, or advertising experience.
  • 5+ years of direct and/or indirect leadership experience.
  • 5+ years experience developing paid, owned, and earned social strategies.
  • 5+ years managing social advertising across major social platforms.
  • 5+ years leading cross-functional teams and external partnerships.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience building social, influencer, or retail media advertising products.
  • Experience in retail media networks, ecommerce, or digital advertising.
  • Strong knowledge of social commerce and influencer marketing.
  • Experience managing platform and agency partnerships.
  • Experience presenting strategy and performance insights to executive leaders.
