  • This position is designed and intended to be performed in Brattleboro, VT.
  • The compensation range for this role is $40,000-$42,500, in addition to KENT standard benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k). Final compensation is subject to variation based on the candidate's skills, job responsibilities, location and other pertinent factors. This position is considered salaried with overtime and is eligible for overtime pay at time-and-a-half for all hours worked over 40 in a work week.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facility Management

  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping and maintenance across the store, warehouse, equipment, vehicles, and grounds
  • Ensure all security and safety systems are in place and functioning properly
  • Uphold store standards to ensure the Company image is consistently represented

Personnel Management

  • Support recruiting and interviewing prospective employees, providing hiring recommendations
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members
  • Contribute to employee meetings focused on safety, product knowledge, and store communication
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and ensure adherence to Company policies and safety standards

Sales Management

  • Support store layout and merchandising to maximize selling space and seasonal opportunities
  • Assist with product displays aligned with promotions and advertising
  • Help execute in-store promotions to drive traffic and sales
  • Deliver strong customer service and product knowledge

Inventory Management

  • Assist with ordering feed and merchandise in alignment with Company processes
  • Support inventory decisions based on sales trends and product performance
  • Learn pricing structure and maintain appropriate margin levels
  • Maintain supplier relationships and assist with inventory counts and processes

Accounting Management

  • Support invoice processing and receiving procedures
  • Assist with daily cash handling and deposit preparation
  • Help prepare daily cash reports
  • Ensure credit sales remain within established terms

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2–3 years of retail experience; supervisory experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of lawn and garden, agriculture, and animals (pet and livestock)
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Agricultural experience preferred
  • This role includes frequent standing, walking, and working on a computer, along with pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. It also requires occasional sitting, reaching, squatting, and kneeling.
