Sales Director
Location: South Central Ohio
The Sales Director provides ongoing leadership and sales support to the Sales Representatives and Business Development Sales Associates as assigned across the company. This employee assists in identifying prospects in their assigned territories and evaluates the resources needed to develop business relationships. The Sales Director also oversees sales strategies, proposals, and forecasts, selling approved products and services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Serve as an ambassador for our brand, culture, company, and business relationships.
  • Provides ongoing sales support to all branch sales representatives and business development team members, including coaching and developing them on sales tactics, and strategies, and assisting them with closes as needed.
  • Meets monthly with Sales Representatives to review and set sales goals and provide market updates.
  • Communicates effectively to the sales staff as well as internal and external customers, developing new relationships while fostering established relationships.
  • Meets sales targets by understanding products, market competition, and how to overcome challenges.
  • Maintains regular communication with the Product Support Department to resolve and troubleshoot customer issues as quickly as possible.
  • Attends trade shows and/or conferences as the company representative, networking with industry leaders and establishing business relationships.
  • Distributes equipment leads, ensuring customer inquiries are answered as soon as possible.
  • Keeps an accurate and comprehensive customer database, including contact names, businesses, and clientsโ€™ sales history.
  • Reviews Sales Representativesโ€™ commission statements each month to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Advises and assists the Marketing Department as needed with any advertising/marketing needs, helping to set strategy on company websites/social media.
  • Keeps informed of new products, services, and other information of interest to customers.
  • Assists Sales Representatives to troubleshoot customer issues and collections on past-due accounts.
  • Regularly reviews market share with Sales Representatives, setting goals and ensuring completion.
  • Approves sale price discounts (within permitted parameters) for Sales Representatives.
  • Collaborates with other internal department staff members as needed, working closely with all company divisions to develop cross-selling strategies and ensure a great customer experience.
  • Meets customer expectations for continued support and follow-up after sales are final to include delivery of truck, signing of the delivery report, truck orientation, service schedules, etc.
  • Continuously works towards acquiring new business by generating leads, following up on them, and networking through current customers.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature as required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • At least 10 years of experience in a sales role.
  • At least 5 years of customer service experience.
  • Proven ability to lead people and develop teams.
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License and driving record acceptable to the insurance company.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to achieve quarterly and yearly quotas.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to develop relationships with sales staff.
  • Smart dress and a professional appearance.
  • Available for some travel outside of the territory (trade shows, training).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
