The 21,000-seat arena is a showcase arena for the company’s industry-leading qualities as an operator and an innovator in the live event experience.

The Director of Retail Operations will oversee all aspects of retail operations within Xfinity Mobile Arena as well as off-site operations that align with team/partner initiatives.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

• Oversee all retail operations for games, concerts, and events, including hiring & managing staff, inventory strategy, merchandise sales, visual merchandising, and financial performance.

•  Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.

•  Hire, train, and develop staff to ensure high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.

•  Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall customer experience and increase revenue.

•  Manage the budget and financial performance of the retail operation, including setting sales targets, forecasting labor and expenses, and analyzing financial data.

•  Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including safety and security regulations as well as union guidelines.

•  Collaborate with other departments (Marketing, Communications, Operations, etc.) to ensure seamless operations and first-in-class customer experience.

•  Lead the replenishment and refreshing of retail spaces by aligning front and back of house operations and requests to keep the desired flow of product and sales.

•  Coordinate mark down/liquidation of product in accordance with desired product lifespan thresholds.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to collaborate well with others and promote a team atmosphere.
  • Write precise, well-organized emails, letters, and proposals while consistently displaying accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office, retail point-of-sale, mobile devices and RFID technology.
  •  Proficient in E-Commerce operations and a focus on increasing the presence and results of website operations.
  • Business acumen that includes general operational processes and planning.
  • Ability to enhance innovation and new ideas with all team members, encouraging new strategies and processes by empowering the team to never settle for past results/practices.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Past experience overseeing a union staff and working within union guidelines for scheduling and staffing.
  • Strong attention to detail – specifically related to inventory integrity and monitoring flow of product from receiving, storage, transfer and selling within the store space.

Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):

  • 5+ years of experience in a Sports Venue Retail Environment 
  • Vast knowledge of the sports and entertainment industry – Including market trends, past success and future projections
  • Prior leadership experience, overseeing a management team and hourly staff.
  • Working knowledge of purchase order creation, using open-to-buy tracking, past sales performance and planning floor selling space.
