Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and service-oriented Talent Development Assistant to support daily operations for a craft training center based in Aurora, Colorado. This role helps create a positive, organized, and professional experience for new craft hires, trainers, trainees, and training center leadership.  The Talent Development Assistant provides administrative and clerical support for Craft Training, Apprenticeship Program, Human Resources, and Training Center operations. This position assists with onboarding activities, training coordination, recordkeeping, travel and expense administration, meeting logistics, and general office support. Working closely with Training Center instructors, leadership, HR personnel, and trainees, the Talent Development Assistant helps ensure daily operations run efficiently and supports the successful delivery of workforce development programs and facility activities.

Location

This is a full time in office role located in Aurora, CO. This is not a remote or hybrid position. 

Responsibilities

Craft Training & Training Center Administration 

  • Provide administrative support to Training Center instructors and leadership
  • Manage instructor calendars, assist with meeting schedules and training-related events
  • Coordinate classroom schedules and set up for training sessions, and facility-related activities
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and training documentation 
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical records

Travel & Lodging Coordination 

  • Book business travel for Training Center trainers and staf, including flights, rental vehicles, and related travel needs
  • Coordinate lodging accomodations for trainers and training-related personnel
  • Ensure travel and lodging arragenments align with company policies, schedules, and training needs
  • Assist travelers with itinerary updates, changes, and travel-related questions 

Expense Management 

  • Prepare, submit, and track expense reports for Training Center trainers and leadership and approved personnel
  • Review receipts and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy 
  • Maintain accurate records related to travel, lodging and training expenses

New Hire Training & Onboarding Support 

  • Schedule and support new hire orientations and training center welcome sessions
  • Assist with employment documentation, personnel records, and confidential HR files

Reporting Support

  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports from DoL, apprentice education, and Company reporting systems 
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to apprenticeship hours and accreditation 
  • Recommend process improvements and enhance efficiency and service delivery 
Qualifications
  • One year of experience performing administrative or office support work, preferably in Human Resources, training, workforce development, construction, or a related environment.
  • Experience supporting HR functions, onboarding programs, training operations, employee services, travel logistics, or expense reporting is highly desirable
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with employees, instructors, trainees, and external partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced training environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. 

Preferred Knowledge & Skills 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, experience with Concur a plus. 
  • Experience coordinating travel, booking lodging, managing calendars, and processing expense reports.  #LI-AK1
