Polston Tax Resolution & Accounting is hiring a Tax Resolution Managing Attorney.


The Tax Resolution Managing Attorney will oversee the daily operations of the legal department while managing a team of attorneys and support staff handling tax resolution matters before the IRS and state taxing authorities. This leadership role combines case management, client advocacy, team supervision, and operational oversight to ensure exceptional client service and successful tax resolution outcomes. Supported by experienced staff, the Legal Department Manager will play a key role in developing legal strategies, mentoring team members, and ensuring departmental performance and compliance standards are met.

PLEASE NOTE: To be considered for this position, Polston is currently hiring remote telework positions for workers located in AL, AZ, AR, DE, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, MD, MA, MO, MT, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NC, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, and WI.

  • Licensed to practice law in Oklahoma, or another state within the United States, at the time of application.
  • Must have at least 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience representing clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Leadership & Department Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and support attorneys and legal staff within the department.
  • Oversee workflow distribution, case assignments, and departmental productivity.
  • Ensure department compliance with firm policies, legal standards, and client service expectations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing procedures to improve operational efficiency and case outcomes.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Serve as a resource for escalated client matters and complex tax resolution cases.

Case Management & Client Representation

  • Review detailed financial analyses of clients’ income, expenses, and assets to determine and/or confirm qualified resolution options.
  • Research and develop strategies to defend clients’ positions while considering their specific goals.
  • Negotiate tax resolutions on behalf of clients with the IRS and/or state government entities via phone, correspondence, or in person.
  • Manage an assigned caseload while ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
  • Consistently communicate with clients via email, phone, video call, and mail regarding case updates and expectations.
  • Respond in a timely manner to client inquiries and requests.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
