Job description

The Director, Total Rewards & HRIS serves as a strategic and operational leader responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive compensation, benefits, HR systems, and HR service operations for Sonrava Health employees. This is a remote role provides expert guidance to HR and business leaders, ensuring programs and systems are competitive, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals to support the attraction, engagement, and retention of top talent.


Total Rewards Strategy & Design

  • Develop and lead Sonrava Health’s total rewards strategy, including base pay, incentive plans, time off, and benefits
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives, talent strategy, and organizational values
  • Evaluate market trends and benchmarking data to maintain competitive and cost-effective programs
  • Act as a trusted advisor to HR, finance, and business leaders on total rewards matters
  • Analyze workforce data and trends to inform decisions and improvements
  • Develop and maintain total rewards policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Create clear communications that help employees understand and value their total rewards

Benefits Administration & Strategy

  • Monitor industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to evolve benefits offerings
  • Manage relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators, including contract negotiation and performance oversight
  • Enhance benefits spend/value through data driven cost management
  • Oversee time-off and leave programs to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Conduct employee surveys and analyze utilization data to improve benefit offerings

Compensation

  • Lead job evaluation, market pricing, and salary structure design
  • Co-design changes to incentive plans to ensure effectiveness and predictable expense
  • Manage annual compensation cycles, including merit increases, bonuses, and incentives
  • Advise leaders on pay decisions, pay equity, and policy interpretation
  • Support compensation-related vendor partnerships and program design

HRIS

  • Lead the HRIS team and design the HR Technology roadmap
  • Configure and maintain the HCM platform (UKG, iCIMS)
  • Manage system integrations, control data security and access permissions
  • Build reports and dashboards, support system upgrades and module rollouts
  • Continuously optimizes HR systems and processes with HR partners, using technology to enable more effective processes and an exceptional employee experience

HR Service Delivery 

  • Own the day-to-day execution of HR transactions and employee experience associated with the transactions
  • Oversee the onboarding/offboarding administration, processing employee lifecycle changes, managing the HR service desk or tier-1 employee inquiries, ensure compliance with documentation and policy, coordination with payroll administration, and standardizing/improving HR workflows
  • Organize efficient service for a large, diverse employee population, ensuring they are well supported yet serviced efficiently

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop the compensation and benefits team and HRIS team
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, and development planning
  • Set priorities and ensure effective execution of total rewards and HRIS initiatives
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required
  • 7+ years of experience in total rewards, compensation, benefits, or HRIS 
  • 3+ years of leadership experience preferred
  • Experience designing and managing compensation programs, including benchmarking and salary structures
  • Experience with executive compensation management, operations incentive design and governance, benefits design, and vendor management
  • Experience evaluating benefits spend/value through data driven cost management with benefit brokers (rebidding RX and stop loss)
  • Experience setting up standardized job architecture structure at an enterprise level
  • Experience leading HRIS teams and managing systems
  • Familiarity building self-serve AI support options and leveraging ticketing/service workflow to manage total volume of requests and delivery against service standards

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations; California experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform decisions
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
