Job description

Join a dynamic Recon and Reporting team responsible for ensuring financial accuracy across post-transaction systems, where your work will help reconcile funds, investigate discrepancies, and support critical reporting obligations. This remote opportunity offers the chance to make a measurable impact on money movement, controls, and process improvement in a fast-paced payments environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform recurring daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across card network, banking partner, processor, and internal ledger data.
  • Investigate break items and discrepancies, identify root causes, and support timely resolution and escalation when needed.
  • Build and maintain SQL-based reporting and reconciliation workflows, including summaries, dashboards, and exception tracking.
  • Track key reconciliation metrics such as match rates, break aging, resolution timelines, and reporting performance.
  • Support month-end close activities by preparing reconciliation support, summaries, and documentation for accounting and audit needs.
  • Monitor settlement, funding, and banking activity to spot irregularities and upstream data issues.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Product, Accounting, Treasury, and Compliance to validate changes, define requirements, and support production issues.
  • Document processes, maintain runbooks, and recommend improvements that reduce manual effort and strengthen controls.
  • Respond to reconciliation and reporting requests from internal and external stakeholders with clear, timely communication.
Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in reconciliation, settlement, payment operations, accounting, or finance analytics.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, a quantitative field, or a related area, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to create and maintain automated reporting solutions.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivots, and working with large transactional datasets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong problem-solving mindset for investigating data issues.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and how money moves through payment and banking processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-directed approach with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and communicate progress clearly.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with card-network reconciliation and settlement processes.
  • Familiarity with payment rails such as ACH, wire, SWIFT, RTP, or FedNow.
  • Exposure to merchants, acquirers, issuers, processors, and program banks within the payments ecosystem.
  • Experience with reconciliation tools, banking portals, or BI platforms such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Background supporting month-end close, fee reconciliation, revenue leakage analysis, or regulatory reporting.
  • Experience contributing to audits, controls, or SOX-adjacent processes.
  • Interest in improving operational workflows through automation and process enhancement.
