JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Access Specialist at Village Health Partners (now a part of Catalyst Physician Group) will handle inbound and outbound patient communications via online chats, text messaging, emails, faxes, and phones. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in utilizing advanced technologies to process these communications in a professional, efficient manner. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage online service accounts including Healow, ZocDoc, patient portal, and webchat
  • Appointment scheduling, demographic updates, and routing messages to appropriate team members
  • Manage email requests from proxy accounts
  • Troubleshoot portal issues
  • Verify and update patient insurance information
  • Empathize with and coach patients in navigating the healthcare system
  • Meet performance metrics and service level criteria
  • Identify special needs and take proper steps to ensure patient concerns are addressed appropriately
  • Work well with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in work processes and/or setting.
  • Follow all HIPAA and privacy rules while discussing sensitive health information with the patient or their authorized delegates.
  • Follow all clinical safety protocols and infection control procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of related experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
  • Experience using medical EMR systems
  • Excellent customers service and communication skills
  • Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment utilizing advanced communication technologies
  • Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in a Primary Care office setting
  • Athena EMR experience
