Solero Behavioral Transitions offers a safe, structured environment for adults managing substance use and mental health challenges. As a dual diagnosis outpatient program, we provide integrated treatment for individuals with primary substance use or mental health disorders.
Position Overview
The Patient Access Representative serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking behavioral health services. This role plays a critical part in the admissions and revenue cycle process by ensuring timely access to care, accurate information collection, insurance verification, and a compassionate experience for patients and families during vulnerable moments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage front-end patient access functions, including intake, admissions coordination, registration, and scheduling for psychiatric services
  • Serve as a compassionate and professional first contact for patients, families, referral sources, and community partners
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, authorizations, and financial responsibility in accordance with payer and hospital guidelines
  • Coordinate financial clearance and communicate coverage details clearly and sensitively to patients and families
  • Collect and accurately enter demographic, insurance, and clinical information into the hospital’s electronic systems
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, utilization management, and revenue cycle departments to ensure smooth admissions and transitions of care
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and hospital privacy policies related to behavioral health information
  • Support patient flow by addressing access barriers and escalating concerns appropriately
Qualifications amp; Experience
  • Prior experience in patient access, admissions, registration, or revenue cycle in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Experience in behavioral health or psychiatric services strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage patients in distress
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage sensitive information accurately and confidentially
  • Working knowledge of insurance verification, authorizations, and financial counseling processes
