What is a Remote Funeral job?

A Remote Funeral job involves assisting with funeral services and operations from a remote location. This can include virtual event coordination, managing online memorials, handling administrative tasks, or providing customer support for grieving families. Technology plays a key role, as many responsibilities involve live-streaming services, maintaining digital records, or facilitating remote communication. This role ensures that funeral arrangements and support are accessible to those who cannot attend in person.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Funeral position, and why are they important?

To prosper as a Remote Funeral Director or Coordinator, you need a background in funeral services, mortuary science, or related fields, often supported by state licensure and experience in funeral arrangement. Familiarity with virtual conferencing platforms, case management software, and secure file-sharing tools is essential for managing remote arrangements and communication. Exceptional empathy, active listening, and clear communication skills set candidates apart when supporting grieving families from a distance. These abilities ensure compassionate service, smooth logistics, and meaningful experiences in sensitive, remote funeral planning.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a Remote Funeral Director or Coordinator?

As a Remote Funeral Director or Coordinator, your daily responsibilities typically include meeting with families virtually to discuss arrangements, coordinating logistics with local funeral homes or service providers, and managing documentation and legal requirements online. You may also oversee or facilitate livestreamed memorial services, assist with obituary preparation, and provide grief resources remotely. Strong virtual communication skills are essential since most interactions with families and team members occur online. You will often collaborate closely with local staff to ensure all elements of the funeral or memorial process are handled smoothly from a distance.

Job description

About Us

We are a premium memorial diamond company helping families transform ashes and hair into genuine memorial diamonds โ€” a deeply personal way to honor love, memory, and legacy. Our client interactions are calm, meaningful, and connection-focused. This is not a high-pressure sales environment.

We are intentionally creating a part-time advisory role designed for experienced professionals who value thoughtful communication, purpose-driven work, and are looking to apply their experience and talents in a meaningful and compassionate way.

Role Overview

This is not a traditional sales role - in our field, connection comes before conversion. Our clients are often families navigating grief and remembrance. We are looking for a competent, emotionally intelligent professional with extensive prior experience in the memorial industry. The right person understands how to guide conversations with empathy, patience, and quiet confidence. Prior experience in emotional sales is a must for this position.

As a Memorial Client Advisor, you will guide inbound clients through sensitive conversations about remembrance and legacy. The position focuses on emotional presence, clarity, and trust โ€” not aggressive selling.

This role is ideal for a mature professional (40+) with experience in memorial services, death care, senior care, veterinary care, or other emotionally sensitive client-facing environments.

Our Perfect Candidate

  • 40+ (life experience and emotional maturity are truly beneficial in this role)
  • Native English speaker based in the US
  • Background in memorial services, death care, senior care, legacy-focused services, or emotionally sensitive client work
  • Comfortable in navigating discussions of loss, legacy, and remembrance
  • Calm, emotionally mature, grounded communication style

Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound client inquiries via phone, email, and text
  • Prepare and ship branded Order Kits for the clients (up to 5 per day)
  • Support families throughout the memorial diamond creation journey
  • Provide clients with timely responses, patience, and empathy during both the decision and production processes
  • Explain the memorial diamond creation process clearly, respectfully, and compassionately
  • Maintain a gentle, consistent follow-up process without pressure
  • Represent the brand with emotional intelligence and professionalism
  • Build trust without aggression or urgency

This is not an aggressive sales environment. Empathy and emotional presence are essential.

Preferred Professional Background

  • Funeral homes/cremation services
  • Hospice or grief support
  • Veterinary front desk or pet loss services
  • Luxury symbolic products

Work Style & Schedule

  • Part-time remote position (low daily volume, high-quality conversions)
  • Approximately up to 5 new inquiries per day
  • Flexible schedule designed to complement an existing professional role
  • No cold calling, no aggressive quotas

Compensation Structure

We offer a balanced model that respects both stability and performance:

Monthly Retainer: up to $3000
Commission (Tiered):

  • 5% on orders under $2,000
  • 7% on orders between $2,000 โ€“ $5,000
  • 10% on orders above $5,000

Typical monthly earnings vary based on client flow and availability. This structure is designed to provide meaningful supplemental income while maintaining a calm, client-centered experience.

Application Requirements

To help us understand your background and approach better, please include:

  • A brief personal introduction and why this line of work resonates with you
  • Your previous area of specialization and the types of products or services supported
  • Approximate monthly or annual sales volume (if applicable)
  • At least two professional references from prior roles
  • Completion of a short questionnaire and voice-recording exercises during the screening period

We are seeking someone who believes meaningful conversations matter more than fast transactions โ€” a calm professional who can hold space for clients while guiding them with care and thoughtfulness.

Next Steps in Our Hiring Process

Selected candidates will be invited to complete:

  • Written responses to a short candidate questionnaire

A brief voice-recording exercise designed to help us understand your communication style
