What Are Remote Jobs in EdTech?

Educational technology, which is known as EdTech for short, involves developing programs and technology tools that assist teachers in the classroom. Remote EdTech specialists build tech tools for use in a school setting, such as smart whiteboards and projector technology. You can also help teachers implement existing technology in their classroom to achieve specific educational goals. Your duties include communicating with teachers and curriculum designers to assess their needs and develop or suggest solutions. Instead of instructional software, some education technologists work on systems that measure performance or student psychology. This is a wide field, and you can find many different careers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Edtech Professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Edtech Professional, you need expertise in instructional design, educational technology, and digital pedagogy, often supported by a degree in education or instructional technology. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Canvas or Moodle, and proficiency in tools such as Zoom, Google Workspace, or content creation software, are typically required. Strong communication, self-motivation, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for engaging learners and collaborating virtually. These skills ensure effective online learning experiences, seamless technology integration, and successful remote teamwork.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote Edtech roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in remote Edtech roles often encounter challenges such as maintaining effective communication with dispersed teams, adapting to various digital tools, and ensuring student engagement in a virtual environment. Addressing these challenges involves proactively using collaborative platforms, setting clear expectations, and participating in regular virtual meetings. Additionally, continuously updating technical skills and leveraging online resources can help overcome obstacles and ensure successful remote collaboration.

What is a Remote Edtech job?

A Remote Edtech job involves working in the education technology sector from a remote location, rather than a traditional office or school setting. These roles can include positions such as online curriculum developers, virtual instructors, instructional designers, education software engineers, and customer support specialists for Edtech platforms. Professionals in this field use digital tools and platforms to create, deliver, or support educational products and services. Remote Edtech jobs offer flexibility and the opportunity to work with innovative technologies that enhance learning experiences for students and educators around the world.

About BeyondK12 & Learneum

BeyondK12 is a national leader in AI Readiness, Digital Literacy, and Future-Ready Education for K–12 schools and districts.

We are expanding into AI-powered software and personalized learning platforms through our new flagship product, Learneum.

Our mission:

Prepare schools and students for the future of work—with ethics, integrity, and real-world skills.

We are now seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Sales Leader to help scale this next phase.

The Opportunity

This is not a “sit-back-and-wait-for-leads” role.

This is for a builder. A closer. A future executive.

You will start as a one-person growth engine and evolve into the leader of a high-performing sales organization.

If you want to help shape a company—not just work at one—this is your seat.

Your Mission
  • Own revenue growth for BeyondK12 and Learneum
  • Generate, qualify, and close education clients (schools, districts, networks)
  • Build scalable sales systems and pipelines
  • Implement CRM, automation, and follow-up workflows
  • Develop partnerships and strategic accounts
  • Recruit, train, and manage future sales reps
  • Collaborate directly with the CEO on growth strategy
  • You will operate like a founder of revenue inside the company.
Core Responsibilities
  • Sales & Growth: Prospect and close K–12 administrators and decision-makers; Run high-level discovery and solution presentations; Manage long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders; Hit and exceed monthly and quarterly targets
  • Systems & Tools: Use CRM and automation tools effectively; Track leads, conversions, and performance metrics; Build repeatable sales processes; Leverage AI and digital tools for efficiency
  • Leadership: Help design the future sales org; Mentor and manage new team members; Establish accountability and performance culture
Required Qualifications
  • A proven closer with B2B or education sales experience
  • Comfortable building from zero
  • Highly organized and self-directed
  • Strong communicator (spoken and written English)
  • Tech-savvy and AI-curious
  • Professional, confident, and polished
  • Persistent and resilient
  • Hungry to grow personally and financially
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Experience in EdTech, SaaS, or education services
  • Startup or early-stage company experience
  • CRM/Marketing automation experience (GHL, HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Existing education contacts or book of business
  • Experience building teams
Who Will Thrive Here
  • This role is for you if you like ownership, not hand-holding
  • You enjoy solving problems
  • You are competitive with yourself
  • You believe in education and innovation
  • You want long-term upside, not just a paycheck
  • You are comfortable being “the person” before there is a team
  • This is not for someone who needs structure handed to them.
  • We will provide support, training, and leadership—but you must bring drive.
Compensation & Growth
  • Competitive base (part-time → full-time)
  • High-commission structure
  • Performance bonuses
  • Leadership advancement
  • Revenue-share opportunities (for top performers)
  • Executive growth path
  • Top performers will earn well above industry average.
Why Join BeyondK12?
  • 35+ years of credibility and relationships
  • Proven programs and IP
  • National footprint
  • AI + Software growth runway
  • Mission-driven leadership
  • Real opportunity to build something meaningful
  • You won’t be selling “vaporware.” You’ll be selling real solutions that matter.
How to Apply
  • Submit:
  • Resume
  • Short cover letter answering:
    • Why are you a fit for this role?
    • What excites you about AI + education?
    • What have you built before?
  • Only serious, growth-minded candidates will be considered.
Final Note

If you are looking for comfort, this isn’t it. If you are looking for impact, leadership, and upside—let’s talk.

Flexible work from home options available.
