Job description

  • Assist the Head Coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition
  • Represent the Cross-Country program to various institutional entities and externally to students, parents, and the general public
  • Conduct recruitment of student-athletes in accordance with NJCAA rules through scouting and attending tournaments
  • Recruit student-athletes who can meet MCC’s academic requirements
  • Assist the Head Coach in monitoring and assisting student-athletes in academic progress
  • Assist in the supervision of all student-athletes while away on intercollegiate athletic trips
  • May perform administrative duties, including maintaining equipment, initiating correspondence, and coordinating travel, including transport, accommodation, and meals
  • Attend all required staff meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Certification in CPR, first aid, and AED training within three months after hire
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated commitment to NJCAA’s principles of sportsmanship and ethical conduct
  • Must secure a New York State driver's license within three months after hire to drive a College vehicle

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant coaching experience in intercollegiate athletics or a related field
