Job description

Position Overview

MCCD Holdings is seeking a highly organized, hands-on Real Estate Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across a growing portfolio of residential rental properties and active development/construction projects.

This role combines:

  • property operations,
  • construction coordination,
  • vendor management,
  • project oversight,
  • tenant coordination,
  • and business operations support.

The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple moving pieces simultaneously in a fast-paced real estate environment.

This is not a large corporate property management role. The Operations Manager will work directly with ownership and play a key role in scaling the business.

Current Portfolio

  • 9 residential rental properties
  • Active luxury/spec residential construction projects
  • Residential renovations and unit turnovers

Core Responsibilities

Property Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of rental portfolio
  • Coordinate maintenance requests and repairs
  • Manage vendor scheduling and follow-up
  • Coordinate turnovers, cleaning, inspections, and make-ready work
  • Track lease expirations and occupancy status
  • Assist with leasing coordination and tenant communication
  • Ensure properties are maintained to company standards
  • Maintain organized property files, invoices, warranties, and documentation

Construction & Development Coordination

  • Coordinate active construction and renovation projects
  • Work with general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and inspectors
  • Track project timelines, budgets, and milestones
  • Schedule inspections and monitor permit progress
  • Assist ownership with project planning and execution
  • Help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
  • Conduct regular site visits and provide progress updates
  • Identify operational issues before they become major problems

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Source and coordinate vendors and subcontractors
  • Obtain and compare bids
  • Maintain contractor relationships
  • Verify scope completion and quality of work

  • Coordinate emergency maintenance situations as needed

Financial & Administrative Oversight

  • Track invoices, receipts, project expenses, and budgets
  • Coordinate with bookkeeping/accounting support
  • Assist with budget reporting and project cost tracking
  • Monitor utility accounts, insurance renewals, and recurring services
  • Help improve operational systems and efficiencies

Business Operations

  • Implement and improve operational processes
  • Maintain project management systems and task tracking
  • Help ownership prioritize operational workflows
  • Assist with scaling systems as portfolio grows
  • Support acquisition onboarding and project startup activities

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in:
    • real estate operations,
    • property management,
    • construction coordination,
    • residential development,
    • or related field
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and vendor management abilities
  • Experience coordinating contractors and service providers
  • Proficiency with:

  • Reliable transportation for local property/project visits

  • Residential construction or renovation experience
  • Real estate investment company experience
  • Knowledge of permitting and inspections

  • Leasing or tenant relations experience
  • Illinois real estate license (not required)
