Salary Range: $65,000-$85,000

Key Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in project or construction administration
  • Knowledge of construction processes, SharePoint, and cost management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to obtain TWIC

Position Summary:

Develops and maintains engineering and construction documents project controls for company projects. Maintains the Shareport environment and ensures all data is accurate and managed effectively. Handles payment applications and invoices for department projects.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

• Perform daily project controls activities on numerous construction projects

• Ensure the consistency and standardization of company project controls workflow processes, forms, and contractor submittals

• Act as department administrator for company local intranet site, including training, content, and reporting

• Maintain integrity of Project and Construction Management database

• Input and maintain data integrity for construction projects and documentation into Construction Management software/database

• Ensure proper processing of consultant and contractor pay requests

• Conduct audits of project controls on individual projects

• Support financial projections by analyzing consultant, employee, and subcontract labor

• Develop and maintain management plans as per contract guidelines

• Oversee and report performance and progress through analytical techniques to validate cost and performance

• Develop and distribute a variety of reports and proposals

• Assist in developing processes and procedures for improved project controls

• Draft, edit, and finalize correspondence to contractors on various projects

• Generate, track and route contract change orders and time extensions

• Conduct classes to consultant and contractors and internal staff on using department construction management database site • Work with records management in archiving large amount of files

• Assist contractors to access company construction sites via VMS system

• Setup and close out of projects in construction management database

Provide reports and other documents for construction projects

• Attend pre-proposal and schedule and co-host pre-construction meeting with vendors to introduce upcoming projects and coordinate bidding process

• Maintain contract submittal and RFI process on construction management database site

• Assist in setting up and facilitating construction meetings, including assembling documentation, drafting delegation letter, obtaining and disbursing agenda and posting recording of meeting

• Compile and publish project expenditures for all construction projects

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or GED equivalency required

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or related major from a public or accredited private academic institution preferred

• 1+ years related work experience in a similar project or construction administration role required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:

• Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office programs and internet based data management systems

• Knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure

• Knowledge of construction techniques and practices

• Knowledge of accounting and data storage

• Knowledge of SharePoint

• Skill in performing basic calculations

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Organizational skills

• Analytical skills

• Ability to prioritize and effectively handle multiple activities and responsibilities on several projects at once

• Ability to meet scheduled deadlines

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

A current, valid Texas driver's license is required

• A Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) must be obtained within 30 days of appointment, and be maintained for the duration of employment
