Job description

STV is seeking a Project Controls Coordinator to join our growing Project Controls team in our New York City office. This position is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional looking to build a career in project controls, scheduling, cost management, and project administration.

The Project Controls Coordinator will support project managers, schedulers, cost engineers, and project teams by assisting with schedule updates, document management, reporting, project performance tracking, and coordination of project controls activities. This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to large-scale transportation, transit, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects while working alongside experienced project controls professionals.

ResponsibilitiesProject Controls Support
  • Assist project teams with tracking project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators.

  • Support project controls reporting, dashboards, and status updates for internal and client stakeholders.

  • Maintain project controls logs, databases, and performance metrics.

  • Assist with change management tracking, issue logs, and risk registers.

Scheduling & Progress Tracking
  • Support development and maintenance of project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling tools.

  • Assist with schedule updates, progress tracking, and milestone monitoring.

  • Prepare schedule reports and support schedule analysis activities.

  • Coordinate with project teams to gather schedule and progress information.

Document Control & Project Administration
  • Maintain project files, records, correspondence, meeting minutes, and project documentation.

  • Support document control processes including tracking, distribution, filing, and archive management.

  • Ensure project documentation complies with client and company requirements.

  • Assist with preparation and coordination of project deliverables and submissions.

Reporting & Data Management
  • Compile project data and prepare recurring reports and presentations.

  • Support development of project dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.

  • Verify data accuracy and consistency across project controls systems.

  • Assist in analyzing project trends, variances, and performance indicators.

Coordination & Communication
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, construction managers, and client representatives.

  • Participate in project meetings and document action items and project updates.

  • Support communication between project stakeholders to ensure timely flow of project information.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices within the Project Controls group.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • 1-3 years of experience supporting project controls, scheduling, cost management, project administration, construction management, or related functions.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting transportation, transit, infrastructure, aviation, buildings, or construction projects.

  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other scheduling platforms.

  • Exposure to PMIS platforms such as e-Builder, Kahua, Unifier, Procore, or similar tools.

  • Experience with Power BI, data analytics, or project reporting systems.

  • Understanding of project controls principles including scheduling, cost tracking, forecasting, change management, and performance reporting.

Compensation Range:

$60,291.00 - $68,512.00
