Job description

Provides secretarial assistance for the Office of Nonpublic Educational Options through routine administrative tasks:

Independently provides explanation, orally and/or in writing, of services or activities of the office (e.g., drafts and may sign simple correspondence, researches responses to inquiries from primary and secondary stakeholders, LEAs, professional organizations, legislators and/or general public);

Utilizes word processing equipment to produce and/or edit documents;

Scans and saves documents to the office shared drive;

Enters and compiles data and/or gathers statistics and prepares reports;

Sets up office procedures;

Coordinates daily workflow of office;

Maintains and shares staff schedules;

Maintains office equipment;

Attends meetings and creates minutes and/or summary reports;

Tracks and maintains records of completed work;

Coordinates event planning (e.g., coordinates mass mailing production and distribution of materials to various constituency groups and stakeholders).

Produces spreadsheets, forms, letters, mailing labels and reports (e.g., quantitative and qualitative) to include formatting or assisting in formatting, from standard or confidential written or oral instructions and proofreads work.

Performs other clerical duties (e.g., maintains electronic and hard copy files; sorts and routes mail; answers phones and screens calls; greets visitors; orders and stocks supplies; maintains calendar; makes copies; prepares materials for mailing; schedules meetings).

The work location of this position is 25 South Front Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. You will be required to report to this work location full-time, if selected.  

Qualifications

1 yr. trg. or 1 yr. exp. in secretarial science or business office applications.
