Job Description

Bello Machre is seeking Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our Residential Services in Carroll County. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are essential staff and provide loving care for adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and throughout the community. In addition to providing direct support and loving care, our Direct Support Professionals teach the people we support independent living skills, plan community-based activities, and implement individual program plans.

Direct Support Professionals work shifts based on the needs of those they support. Currently, there are only part-time positions with shifts occurring on the evenings and on weekends.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • A high school diploma or GED required
  • Must have a current driver’s license with no more than 5 points
  • Must display a genuine interest in the well-being of adults with developmental disabilities
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor, peers, individuals, and families
  • Must display a positive attitude when interacting with others
  • Must be able to teach skills, provide support, and build on each individual’s strengths and capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding support and services for people with developmental disabilities, enabling them to participate as fully as they wish in all aspects of community life
  • Assist individuals in the development of friendships and other relationships.
  • Assist individuals to become an active participant in their community and to build natural support networks
  • Be knowledgeable of the person-centered plan for each person and provide support to them according to their plan
  • Interact with each person in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment. Fully understand all aspects of fundamental rights
