Fiscal & Procurement Assistant
The
Fiscal & Procurement Assistant servesa key role in the fiscal, procurement, and student organization-relatedactivities of the Student Affairs Business Service Center (SABSC). Thisposition is responsible for the work associated with financial and businessoperations, including managing and monitoring the accurate and timelyprocessing of all transactions. This role is responsible for responding toincoming requests and inquiries and ensuring follow-up and resolution. TheFiscal and Procurement Assistant provides financial support and servicesto Student Affairs departments, and to students involved with the UndergraduateGovernment of Boston College (UGBC), the Student Organization Funding Committee(SOFC), and registered student organizations (RSOs), including transactionalsupport, reporting, and problem-solving across a wide variety of service centeroperations and services.
Interested candidates must have a strong customer serviceorientation, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment, andsound judgment to manage complex fiscal and operational processes with accuracyand integrity. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience infinancial administration, and problem-solving, along with the flexibility toadapt to evolving needs and contribute to continuous improvement.
Each staff member in the Division of StudentAffairs is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staffevents, and serve on committees as needed.
Hiring Range: $24.78/hr to $30.96/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Three years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Understanding of or demonstrated aptitude for budgetary and financial concepts essential, especially in higher education
- Previous experience in a customer service environment essential
- Academic experience preferred
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project management skills
- Functional use of PeopleSoft HR and Financial systems
- Functional use of Microsoft software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project management skills
- Ability to recognize and effectively balance the differing needs of students and staff in multiple departments
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend work to support business cycles, events, and divisional priorities
