About the role Job Summary
The Jr. Procurement Officer is responsible for supporting procurement activities including order processing, supplier communication, and documentation. This role assists in ensuring timely and accurate purchasing of goods and services under close supervision. This job profile is intended for early-career professionals who apply broad theoretical knowledge and require the ability to investigate and analyse problems. Solutions are typically discussed/verified with a more senior member.

JOB DESCRIPTION (Revised 7/2026)

POSITION: Procurement Administrative Assistant

REPORTS TO: Procurement Supervisor

FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities shall include the following:

Procurement Department

o Assist with purchase orders and to forward related information to

Procurement Specialist for process.

o Expedite all open purchase orders for delivery and pricing information and input that information into the respective purchase order.

o Follow up and attain information from all critical vendors for terms and conditions and to file the information within those vendor files in the ERP system.

o Enter data into VMD system for vendor set up.

o Obtain insurance, terms & conditions, and all related documents for all critical sub-contractors, to be valid for on site use at Sulzer.

o To provide clerical assistance as needed for the Procurement Department.

o This position is hourly (8-5) and will report directly to the Procurement Supervisor.

Qualification / Skills

o Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. *must have 1-3 yrs of admin experience*

o Minimum education level: Diploma/Some college

o Clear communication, both oral and written

o Must be able to work in a fast paced, sometimes high stress environment.

o Must be a team player with a growth mindset.
