Job description

Tangent Materials is seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Pricing Manager to lead strategic pricing initiatives across our direct, mass market, and distribution channels. This role will partner closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, Product Management, and Leadership to optimize pricing strategy, improve process, and support profitable growth across multiple product lines and customer segments.
The ideal candidate has experience within a manufacturing environment and understands the complexity of channel pricing, rebate structures, and distributor pricing management.
Requirements
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize pricing strategies for direct customer accounts, distribution partners, and mass market channel
  • Analyze pricing performance, margin trends, and market conditions to recommend strategic adjustments
  • Establish pricing governance, approval workflows, and pricing discipline across the organization
  • Support annual price increase initiatives and targeted margin improvement programs
  • Evaluate customer profitability based on volume, freight, rebates, discounts, and service requirements
  • Manage distributor pricing structures including tiered price lists (Distributor Net, Dealer Net, MSRP/MAP), discount schedules, and special pricing agreements (SPAs)
  • Develop and enforce channel pricing policies that protect margin integrity, prevent direct-vs-distributor price erosion, and resolve pricing disputes between direct accounts and distribution partners
  • Monitor competitive positioning and market pricing trends within the manufacturing sector
  • Collaborate with Sales leadership to structure strategic customer and distributor agreements
  • Build and maintain pricing models, dashboards, and reporting tools
  • Conduct margin analysis by product, customer, channel, and region
  • Partner with Finance to support forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis
  • Identify opportunities for pricing standardization and process improvement
  • Assist with ERP pricing maintenance and pricing data integrity

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing multi-tier channel pricing, including distributor price list management, special pricing agreements (SPAs), rebate program design and accrual tracking, and channel conflict resolution in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong understanding of gross margin analysis and pricing strategy
  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with ERP systems and BI/reporting tools preferred
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 5+ years of pricing, financial analysis, or commercial analytics experience within manufacturing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in plastics, industrial manufacturing, building materials, or engineered products
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, or advanced ERP reporting tools
  • MBA or advanced analytics experience is a plus
