Job description

Manager, Transfer Pricing
The Manager, Transfer Pricing, will serve as a key member and trusted advisor within our Transfer Pricing practice, taking primary ownership of client relationships, engagement management, and the delivery of high-quality transfer pricing services to multinational corporations. This position combines technical knowledge with business insight to manage complex projects, guide strategic advisory initiatives, and support the growth of GTM's Transfer Pricing practice through business development. This position will also lead, mentor, and develop analysts and senior analysts, nurturing a high-performing team and ensuring best practices are consistently applied across all outputs.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and relationship manager for a portfolio of multinational clients, cultivating trust, ensuring satisfaction, and identifying opportunities to expand the scope of GTM's services.
  • Oversee every facet of transfer pricing engagement delivery, encompassing project scoping, resource allocation, timeline coordination, budgeting, and quality assurance. Consistently ensure that deliverables align with or surpass client expectations.
  • Advise clients on intercompany transactions, IP planning, supply chain restructuring, and cross-border business design to optimize tax efficiency and risk management.
  • Lead the planning and execution of transfer pricing strategies aligned with clients' broader business objectives, international expansion plans, and mergers and acquisitions activity.
  • Conduct comprehensive economic and functional analyses, such as benchmarking studies, profit split assessments, and valuations of intangible assets. Additionally, perform functional interviews to ensure conclusions are technically robust and defensible.
  • Oversee the operational implementation of transfer pricing policies, including coordination with finance teams, execution of intercompany pricing, and management of periodic true-up adjustments.
  • Identify and evaluate existing client transfer pricing models for risk, inefficiency, and strategic improvement opportunities, presenting actionable recommendations at the senior stakeholder level.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of transfer pricing analysts and senior analysts, setting clear performance expectations, providing timely feedback, and supporting career growth and professional development.
  • Develop transfer pricing models to evaluate the tax and cash flow impact of alternative transfer pricing structures, supporting decision-making for complex business restructuring processes.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive transfer pricing policies and documentation frameworks in compliance with Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development ("OECD") guidelines, base erosion and profit shifting ("BEPS") initiatives, and local country requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and sign-off on transfer pricing documentation, including master files, local files, ensuring technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and coordinate responses to transfer pricing audits and competent authority proceedings, developing robust defense strategies and managing communications with tax authorities.
  • Support business development by preparing proposals, shaping go-to-market strategies, attending industry events, and building new client relationships with firm leadership.
  • Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments, including country-specific rule changes, proactively advising clients on the implications for their transfer pricing positions.
  • Collaborate with internal practice leaders to develop and refine GTM's transfer pricing methodologies, tools, and thought leadership content, driving innovation and operational excellence within the practice.
  • Design and deliver internal training programs and knowledge-sharing sessions, building technical depth across the team and cultivating the next generation of transfer pricing professionals.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and professional ethics in all client engagements and internal interactions, serving as a role model for GTM's values and culture.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is required
  • Master's degree (MBA, MST, or LLM in Taxation) is strongly preferred but not required
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a transfer pricing consulting environment
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as an acting manager and/or mentor/trainer
  • Broad and deep knowledge of OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines, BEPS developments, and U.S. Section 482 rules required
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, economic analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Experience with transfer pricing software (e.g., S&P Capital IQ, Moody's Analytics TP Catalyst) and data analytics platforms is strongly preferred.

  • High degree of tact, judgment and discretion

Position Reports to: Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing and/or Director, Transfer Pricing
Position Supervises: Senior Transfer Pricing Analyst and/ or Transfer Pricing Analyst
The Chief Executive Officer has the discretion to hire personnel with a combination of experience and education that may vary from the above listed qualifications.
