The Capital Law Firm, P.C. is a growing plaintiff personal injury law firm dedicated to delivering exceptional client service and outstanding results. We are seeking a motivated Litigation (Associate) Attorney to join our team and help manage a dynamic caseload while advocating for injured clients throughout the pre-litigation process.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to further develop their litigation, negotiation, and case strategy skills while working closely with an experienced leadership team. We are open to attorneys at various stages of their careers, including newer attorneys with strong personal injury experience and a solid understanding of California statutes, deadlines, and pre-litigation procedures.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing deadlines, evaluating cases, negotiating settlements, and filing lawsuits when necessary to protect our clients' interests.

• Proactively managing statutes of limitations and critical deadlines

Responsibilities

• Manage a pre-litigation caseload from intake through resolution
• Monitor and manage statutes of limitations and critical legal deadlines
• Evaluate liability, damages, and overall case value
• Handle settlement negotiations with insurance carriers and opposing parties
• Draft, prepare, and file pre-litigation lawsuits and legal pleadings as needed
• Review medical records, billing records, police reports, and supporting documentation
• Communicate directly with clients regarding case status and legal strategy
• Collaborate with Case Managers, Medical Records Coordinators, and firm leadership
• Identify cases requiring escalation into formal litigation
• Maintain accurate case documentation and notes within case management systems
• Ensure compliance with California legal procedures and firm protocols

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
• 1-5+ years of experience in personal injury and/or pre-litigation law preferred
• Strong understanding of California personal injury law and pre-litigation procedures
• Strong knowledge of statutes of limitations and filing requirements
• Knowledge of government claim timelines, deadlines, and statutory requirements
• Knowledge of uninsured/underinsured motorist timelines, deadlines, and procedures
• Experience drafting, preparing, and filing lawsuits and legal pleadings
• Strong negotiation and settlement evaluation skills
• Ability to evaluate liability, damages, and settlement value
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively and efficiently
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Experience in plaintiff personal injury litigation preferred
