Pre-Litigation Paralegal

Founded in 2003, Kanner & Pintaluga is a NLJ500 and Mid-Market Pro 50 law firm that has recovered over $1 billion for property damage and personal injury clients nationwide. With nearly 100 lawyers and more than 30 offices throughout the Central and Southeastern United States, our primary goal is to achieve the most favorable outcome for our clients, who have the absolute right to receive the maximum compensation for their damages.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pre-Litigation Paralegal will work directly with our attorneys to assist them with ongoing cases and prepare them for trial if needed. In addition, they conduct fact-finding projects and are responsible for maintaining all case files.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform secretarial, clerical, and data entry duties
  • Maintain attorney’s calendar
  • Draft legal court documents, such as arbitrations pleadings, motions, affidavits, and subpoenas.
  • Schedule depositions, pre-depositions, meetings, meditations, hearings
  • Document management using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe
  • E-file legal documents in Florida’s E-Portal System.
  • Send out correspondence to parties/non-parties via email, regular mail, or certified mail.
  • Communicate with clients.
  • Set up Court Calls or Zoom for hearings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full-time, 8:00am to 5:00pm, M-F
  • 1+ years of Paralegal experience required.
  • Experience e-filing in both state and federal courts preferred.
  • Experience drafting legal documents (Ie. arbitrations, pleadings, motions).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers effectively and efficiently.
  • Possess excellent organization skills and be able to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Teamwork oriented.
