In-Office: This is a 100% in-office role based at any of our Schaumburg, Il - Meridian, ID - or Rochester, NY locations. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to work on-site five days per week during designated work hours.
Tax Specialist I
The Tax Specialist on the Balancing Team is primarily responsible for balancing the Payroll system to the Tax system and reconciling variances for new and existing customers. This role ensures that issues and errors are accurately identified and resolved while collaborating with internal and external partners to strengthen processes, controls, and deliverables.
Primary Responsibilities
The below represents the primary duties of the position; other duties may be assigned as needed. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.   • Responsible for tax reconciliation for cyclical processing and end-of-period activities, including researching and resolving demographic, wage, and liability errors and issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure sound tax services and deliver a high level of customer service
  • Stay up to date on changes required to support tax reporting agencies, including taxability updates
  • Participate in balancing activities for new customers shortly after payroll implementation
  • Respond to internal support requests from Client Services, Implementation, and Payroll Operations teams
  • Collaborate with team members to align priorities and ensure accurate, timely tax reconciliation and compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
  • 2+ years of Payroll Tax experience required
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Exposure to payroll, banking, or tax software within a payroll service bureau environment preferred.

The base pay range for this position is $35k - 79k /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
