Overview

Supervises and directs the daily operations of PEO Tax Specialists. Ensures fulfillment of quarter-end and year-end payroll tax requirements. Monitors PEO parent entity payroll tax accounts to ensure compliance with IRS, state and local tax regulations.


Responsibilities
  • Supervises, assigns, directs and verifies the work of assigned personnel.
  • Ensures timely preparation and filing of federal, state and local tax returns and processing of payroll tax payments in excess of $600 million annually.
  • Provides payroll tax expertise and support to resolve client payroll tax concerns.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive relationship with clients, CPAs and Paychex departments.
  • Supervises training of personnel; recommends, implements and monitors on-the-job training and education to ensure professional advancement of assigned personnel.
  • Recruits, selects, hires and evaluates performance of personnel to ensure all department needs are handled appropriately. Counsels and develops staff for personal and corporate advancement through career development, training programs and other resources as required for professional advancement.
  • Maintains knowledge of changes in payroll tax laws and tax agency requirements.
  • Plans, coordinates and organizes the quarter-end and year-end process, to ensure accurate transmission of tax returns and payments.
  • Utilizes Power of Attorney with IRS, granted by Paychex, for all PEO entities to ensure good standing of accounts.
  • Develops and maintains a positive, professional relationship with tax agencies.
  • Develops and implements alternative procedures in response to changing payroll tax requirements, including the development of alternate technology to increase efficiency.

  • Associate's Degree in
  • 1 year of experience in Leadership role.
  • 5 years of experience in Payroll or accounting experience.
  • PEO experience.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $61,400 - $96,400 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
