Job description

Job Title: Payroll Processor II
Location: Hybrid | Sacramento, CA
Requirements:
2+ years of recent end-to-end payroll processing experience
Experience processing payroll for organizations with 20,000+ employees
Experience with California payroll processing and applicable state requirements
Experience processing California final termination pay within required timelines
Experience with Workday Payroll
Experience with Kronos
Experience processing union payroll and applying collective bargaining agreement requirements
Ability to process high-volume payroll accurately while meeting strict deadlines
Ability to research, reconcile, and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee pay issues
Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on a hybrid schedule in Sacramento, CA
Preferred Requirements:
Healthcare payroll experience
Experience supporting large, complex enterprise payroll operations
Experience with payroll compliance, audits, and payroll controls
Familiarity with LotusOne or similar workforce management systems
Strong communication skills and ability to partner with payroll leadership and internal stakeholders
Summary / Duties:
The Payroll Processor II supports end-to-end payroll processing for a large, complex healthcare organization with an employee population exceeding 20,000. Responsibilities include processing and validating California payroll, completing final termination payments within required timelines, handling union payroll, and using Workday Payroll and Kronos to manage payroll transactions. The role reviews and reconciles payroll data, researches discrepancies, resolves employee pay issues, maintains accurate payroll records and supporting documentation, and consistently meets established processing deadlines. This position also supports payroll audits and compliance activities while partnering with payroll leadership and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure accurate, timely payroll processing in accordance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable California and federal requirements.
