We're on the hunt for a detail-obsessed Payroll Specialist who loves getting it right the first time.

This is a 4-month contract role with the potential to extend, starting in early July, reporting to the Director of Finance, where you'll serve as the critical link keeping our payroll operations running smoothly across both the United States and Canada.

With employees spread across Canada and the US, you'll need to know your way around multi-jurisdictional payroll like the back of your hand - this is a non-negotiable. If cross-border compliance is your thing, we want to hear from you!

What Makes This Role Exciting:
  • Own multi-jurisdictional payroll across the US and Canada at a fast-growing SaaS company - no two days look the same
  • High visibility with Finance and executive leadership - your work will be noticed
  • Get your hands on an evolving Finance tech stack including BambooHR and PayEvo
  • Join a collaborative, people-first culture where the work you do actually matters
What You'll Be Doing:

Payroll:

  • Own timely and accurate payroll processing across the US and Canada - every cycle, every time
  • Stay ahead of federal, state, provincial, and local payroll regulations across both countries and keep leadership informed on anything that matters
  • Process and distribute employee payments, manage payroll prep, and squash discrepancies before they become problems
  • Prepare payroll reports covering earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
  • Research and resolve employment tax inquiries and discrepancies; establish tax profiles with state, provincial, and local jurisdictions as needed
  • Handle sensitive payroll information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism
  • Spot opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve - we love a good process win
  • Collaborate on special projects and whip up ad hoc reports for internal stakeholders and leadership
  • Keep us compliant on all payroll-related legal requirements including tax filings and regulatory reporting

Benefits Administration:

  • Get new hires set up and enrolled in their benefit plans across the US and Canada - including 401(k) and RRSP retirement programs - so they hit the ground running
  • Keep employee benefit accounts up to date, managing changes and life events as they come up
  • Be the go-to resource for benefits questions, helping employees understand their plans and resolving issues quickly
  • Note: no open enrollment responsibilities with this role
What You Bring:
  • You're based in the Atlanta, Georgia area - this is a fully remote role but we're looking for local candidates only
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field; CPP designation is a bonus
  • 2-5 years of payroll experience with hands-on processing in both the US and Canada - this one's a must
  • Solid familiarity with benefits administration including retirement plans on both sides of the border
  • Deep knowledge of payroll systems and multi-jurisdictional compliance - you know the rules and you follow them
  • Experience with payroll and HRIS systems; BambooHR and PayEvo experience is a nice bonus
  • Obsessive attention to detail and a natural ability to handle sensitive data with care
  • Strong communicator who can collaborate comfortably at all levels of the organization
  • Cool under pressure - you can juggle competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and adapt when things shift
Expect More From Your Career at SpryPoint
