Job Summary
Our client is seeking a proficient Payment Posting Specialist to oversee and manage daily financial transactions. The primary responsibility is to handle a variety of payment sources, ensuring accurate reconciliation and maintaining efficient turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities
  • Record and apply daily financial transactions, including payments and adjustments, from multiple sources such as electronic remittances, paper checks, EOBs, patient payments, collection agencies, capitation plans, CareCredit, and patient portals.
  • Follow established departmental procedures for payment reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to maintain efficient turnaround times.
  • Provide coverage and support for charge posting responsibilities when needed.
  • Meet or exceed departmental productivity goals while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Maintain an error rate within the standards outlined by department guidelines.
  • Update patient demographic information as needed to ensure accurate billing and clear patient statements.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external phone calls.
  • Monitor and reply to emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete any additional responsibilities assigned by leadership.

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of medical payment posting experience
  • Experience working in a high-volume payment posting environment
  • Basic Excel knowledge
  • NextGen experience is preferred
  • Proficient in Excel is preferred

  • Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances).
