  • Analyze out-of-pocket cost estimates and determine whether recommendations align with industry best practices.
  • Assess patient eligibility for charity care, financial assistance, hardship waivers, and other support programs.
  • Identify situations where AI recommendations differ from what an experienced financial counselor would recommend and clearly explain the rationale.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Medicaid eligibility, financial assistance resources, and patient advocacy programs.

  • Experience using cost estimation tools and navigating financial counseling workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance benefits, coverage verification, patient responsibility calculations, and authorization processes.
  • Experience assisting patients with Medicaid enrollment processes and eligibility requirements.
  • Familiarity with charity care programs, financial assistance resources, hardship waivers, and payment plan structures.
  • Strong understanding of patient financial workflows and the ability to clearly explain financial counseling decisions and recommendations.
  • Experience supporting Medicaid enrollment initiatives and/or hardship assistance programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in centralized revenue cycle departments or high-volume patient financial counseling environments.
  • Background supporting underserved or financially vulnerable patient populations.
  • Experience collaborating with Medicaid offices, community organizations, charities, or financial assistance programs.
  • Comfort working in a technology-driven, AI-supported healthcare environment.
  • Experience evaluating workflows, business processes, or operational decision-making practices.
