What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a Partnerships role, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Partnerships role, you need strong relationship-building abilities, strategic thinking, and a background in business, marketing, or a related field. Familiarity with CRM platforms, data analytics tools, and sometimes contract management systems is typically required. Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills distinguish top performers in this position. These competencies are vital for identifying mutually beneficial opportunities, maintaining productive alliances, and driving organizational growth.

How does a Partnerships professional typically collaborate with other departments within a company?

Partnerships professionals frequently work cross-functionally, collaborating with teams such as marketing, sales, product development, and legal to ensure successful partnership execution. They often coordinate project timelines, align partnership goals with business objectives, and facilitate communication between internal stakeholders and external partners. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to balance the interests of both the company and its partners. Regular meetings, joint planning sessions, and shared reporting are common collaboration methods.

What are partnerships in a business context?

Partnerships in a business context refer to collaborative relationships between two or more organizations or individuals who work together to achieve common goals. These alliances can involve sharing resources, expertise, or market access to drive growth, expand reach, or create new opportunities. Partnerships can take many forms, such as strategic alliances, joint ventures, or affiliate agreements, and are often formalized through contracts outlining the roles and responsibilities of each party. Successful partnerships are built on trust, clear communication, and mutual benefit.

Job description

Why Join Us?
Check Point is a global cyber security leader protecting more than 100,000 organizations worldwide. Our mission is to secure enterprises' AI transformation. With a prevention-first approach and an open ecosystem architecture, Check Point helps organizations block advanced threats, prioritize exposures, and automate security operations across complex digital environments.
Check Point's unified architecture delivers consistent protection and visibility across hybrid networks, multi-cloud environments, digital workspaces, and AI systems. Structured around four strategic pillars, Hybrid Mesh Network Security, Workspace Security, Exposure Management, and AI Security, Check Point enables organizations to reduce risk, improve efficiency, and accelerate innovation without increasing complexity.
About the Role
The companies securing their AI transformations are choosing their partners right now. This role puts you at the center, with the autonomy, access, and scope to shape how Check Point wins.
This role owns partnership execution across Check Point's technology partner ecosystem, including AI, cybersecurity, and emerging technology companies. That includes expanding and improving existing partnerships and identifying and building relationships that don't exist today, defining how they operate, aligning internal teams around shared priorities, and driving joint outcomes that strengthen Check Point's product relevance and market position. The role requires someone who combines deep partnership expertise with technical fluency to earn credibility with product and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive execution of Check Point's partnership strategy across the AI ecosystem, cybersecurity, and emerging technology domains, identifying the highest-value relationships and building the frameworks to activate them.
  • Accelerate engagement and expanded scope within existing partnerships, unblocking stalled relationships, identifying untapped opportunities, and ensuring current partners are producing measurable outcomes.
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and develop new partner relationships through existing networks, industry engagement, and market intelligence, bringing opportunities to the table that the business would not find on its own.
  • Continuously evaluate and prioritize the partner ecosystem, making clear recommendations on where to invest, where to expand, and where to deprioritize based on business impact, product alignment, and strategic fit.
  • Structure and negotiate partnership agreements and joint operating models with partners' senior stakeholders that define shared objectives, success metrics, engagement cadence, and accountability on both sides.
  • Build and maintain trust relationships with decision making stakeholders in chosen partners, including the creation of joint business plans for priority partners and quarterly business reviews that track progress against defined outcomes.
  • Champion partnership priorities internally, building the buy-in and commitment needed from Check Point leadership, Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing and additional teams to ensure partnerships are resourced and activated, not just agreed to.
  • Translate partner capabilities and technology direction into product and GTM relevance for Check Point, working directly with Product leadership to align roadmaps and identify co-development opportunities.
  • Raise partnership capability across the team and cross-functional stakeholders by sharing frameworks, best practices, and operational discipline that help others engage partners more effectively.
  • Establish and refine partnership measurement and reporting, ensuring partner-influenced outcomes are tracked, visible, and reported to leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Represent Check Point externally at industry events, partner forums, and executive engagements to build visibility and identify new strategic opportunities.

Qualifications
  • 7 or more years in strategic partnerships, technology alliances, or business development within enterprise technology or cybersecurity companies, with direct experience structuring and scaling partnerships that delivered measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong partnership craft. Knows how to build a joint plan, structure an agreement, run a QBR, navigate internal alignment, and hold both sides accountable to commitments. Has done this across multiple partners and domains, and knows how to get more out of existing relationships, not just build new ones.
  • Technical fluency to engage credibly with product and engineering teams on architecture, integrations, and platform-level conversations. Not expected to be an engineer, but must hold their own in technical discussions with partner counterparts.
  • Experience building partnerships in AI/ML and cybersecurity ecosystems,
  • Familiarity with the AI ecosystem, including AI infrastructure, model providers, and AI-native platforms, with the ability to identify where security intersects with AI adoption and translate that into partnership opportunities.
  • A track record of operating cross-functionally in matrixed environments, with demonstrated ability to build internal buy-in and get Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to commit resources and attention to partnership priorities.
  • Strong commercial instinct. Understands how partnerships translate to pipeline, product differentiation, and competitive positioning, and can communicate that clearly to leadership.
  • A builder's mindset. Comfortable defining priorities independently and creating structure and process to scale partnerships effectively.
  • The ability and willingness to elevate those around them, sharing partnership knowledge, frameworks, and operational discipline with teammates and cross-functional stakeholders to raise the overall capability of the organization.
  • An established network across the technology and cybersecurity ecosystem, with a track record of using relationships to open doors, identify opportunities, and accelerate partnerships that would not have happened through inbound channels alone.
  • A proactive, outgoing approach to building connections. Comfortable initiating relationships in partner organizations and across the industry without waiting for introductions.
  • Cybersecurity domain knowledge, including familiarity with threat landscapes, enterprise security architecture, and how security products are built and deployed.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
