Swim Across America - Seattle 2026 Event Volunteers Needed for Recruiting

Swim Across America

Seattle, WA โ€ข On-site

Job description

Swim Across America โ€“ Seattle raises critical funding for innovative cancer researchers right here in the Seattle area. These scientists are pursuing bold, highโ€‘potential ideas that could lead to the next generation of cancer breakthrough therapies.

But hereโ€™s the challenge: The National Cancer Institute (NCI) โ€” the largest federal funder of cancer research โ€” typically prioritizes projects with lower risk and proven early data. That means many of the most promising, imaginative, paradigmโ€‘shifting ideas struggle to secure traditional funding.

This is where SAA โ€“ Seattle steps in.

We provide the earlyโ€‘stage, highโ€‘risk, highโ€‘reward funding that allows researchers to explore new pathways, test unconventional hypotheses, and generate the preliminary data needed to unlock major federal grants later. In other words:

We fund the ideas that might otherwise never get a chance โ€” the ideas that could change everything.

Specifically, SAA - Seattle needs a core group of volunteers to validate a pre-vetted list of various 2026 summer events and attend these validated events to recruit people to SAA as fundraisers.
