We are seeking a Technical Writer to support the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service's Grants and Agreements division in North Carolina. This position is fully remote.

** Please note that this is a part-time position, (16) hours per week, on Tuesday and Thursday.**

So, what will the Technical Writer at Terrestris do?

As the Technical Writer you provide technical assistance covering the full lifecycle of Grants and Agreements (G&A) between the Forest Service and partner agencies and organizations, including the technical writing and review of G&A Documents, assisting subject matter experts, and providing guidance on process, regulatory compliance and financial planning.

What does a typical day look like for the Technical Writer?

You will:

  • Provide technical and administrative assistance to the Region 8 Fire and Aviation Group by providing advice and assistance on proper utilization of Agreements.
  • Organize material and complete assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology, and maintains records and files of work.
  • Review financial statements and advise the Region 8 Fire and Aviation Group on the proper use of funds.
  • Revise or advise on the revision of standardized material for Grants and Agreements Documentation, Scopes of Work, financial plans, and other related materials.

What qualifications do you look for?
