Purpose
We are seeking a motivated Student Associate to provide part-time technical and administrative support to the Center's Information Technology team. This position offers hands-on experience supporting a research environment through computer setup and maintenance, user support, technology troubleshooting, documentation, and other IT-related projects. The ideal candidate is customer service-oriented, organized, eager to learn new technologies, and able to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
Responsibilities
  • Provide first-level technical support to PRC faculty, staff, and students, escalating issues to IT staff as needed.
  • Assist with the setup, deployment, and maintenance of computers, printers, and other technology equipment.
  • Help install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems.
  • Maintain inventory of computer equipment, peripherals, and IT supplies.
  • Assist with user account management, password resets, and basic technology troubleshooting.
  • Support conference room technology, audiovisual equipment, and virtual meeting setups.
  • Document IT procedures, update technical guides, and maintain knowledge base resources.
  • Assist with routine maintenance, equipment replacements, and office technology projects.
  • Provide support for website updates and other technology-related administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Perform other technology and administrative support duties to assist the PRC IT team.

Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with software applications, including web and content management systems.
  • Experience with computer hardware set up.
  • Experience with AV set up.
  • Student required to be enrolled in at least 6 hours in long semesters.
