Job description

Job Summary:
IBSS is seeking a Technical Writer to support GARFO's Technology and Data Management division. The role involves creating and editing user documentation for software applications, ensuring compliance and usability for a diverse user base.
Responsibilities:
• Create documentation and edit and reformat documentation created by developers to provide a comprehensive body of user documentation for the GARFO software application inventory.
• Attend development meetings as needed to gather information.
• Complete user documentation in a publicly presentable, section 508 compliant format for publication on NMFS public web site.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience with software tools to develop, edit, maintain, deliver, and display technical materials.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and MIRO.
• One (1) or more years of experience creating software documentation (user guides, FAQs, other training tools).
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Detail oriented and organized with strong analytical skills
• Demonstrated success working in a team environment that includes flexibility working with a team in an organization that is dispersed; coordinating with the work of others; facilitating interactions among team members with diverse skill sets.
Preferred:
• B.S/B.A in Computer Science or a related field preferred and 2+ yrs experience
• Agile Development Methodology experience or similar methodology desired
