Technical Writer
The Opportunity:
Writes and edits technical documentation, user manuals, sales, and training literature. Applies specific functional knowledge with working and general industry knowledge. Develops or contributes to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance and may review or guide activities of more junior employees. This role will work closely with engineering, program management, and cybersecurity teams to produce accurate, clear, and compliant documentation.

You Have:
  • Experience producing technical documentation in a DoD, defense contractor, or government-regulated environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Visio
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD documentation practices, CDRLs, and DIDs
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with systems engineering, cybersecurity compliance, Risk Management Framework (RMF), or software development programs
  • Experience developing documentation for classified programs
  • Knowledge of modern development methodologies such as Agile or DevSecOps
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
