Job description

Position Overview  

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for prospecting and obtaining new customers as well as building relationships and retaining existing customers.    

The Outside Sales Representative will work independently within their territory as well as work collaboratively with the sales team. This position develops and executes selling strategies that ensure revenue growth to meet and exceed sales goals by acquiring new customers. Additionally, the role is responsible for managing existing customer relationships through proactive retention strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Solicit new customers in the assigned sales territory.  Offer quotes and/or bids as necessary within the scope and pricing perimeters established by the company.  
  • Meet regularly with existing customers to reinforce positive relations and maintain acceptable service standards.  
  • Acquire and maintain current market, industry, and company knowledge.  
  • Utilize the company’s CRM tool daily.  
  • Practice critical thinking and develop solutions for customer issues.   
  • Other duties may be assigned.  

Qualifications  

  • Prior outside sales experience is a must.  
  • Ability to negotiate and close sales by effectively communicating with prospects.  
  • Capability to execute cold calls to influence potential commercial & construction customers into setting appointments with the purpose of presenting and selling Atlas Disposal services.  
  • Demonstrate organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.  
  • Demonstrate teamwork.  
  • Maintain good customer relationships.  
  • Proficient use of computers, Microsoft Office suite, and sales tools.  
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, telephone, and listening skills.  

Education  

  • Minimum of 2 years of college.  
  • College degree preferred.  
  • Relevant work experience could be substituted for education requirements.  

Work Environment and Expectations  

The Outside Sales Representative will be expected to work in the field and an office setting. A valid driver’s license and a reliable form of transportation are required.
