The Financial Consultant - Membership Analytics will support membership-focused analytics within Optum Health Finance. This role will help evaluate membership performance, growth trends, retention, attribution, enrollment movement, and other key drivers that impact revenue forecasting, planning, and business performance.

The position will work closely with Finance, Revenue Analytics, Operations, Actuarial, and business partners to develop reporting and provide datasets that support financial planning and leadership decision-making. This role requires strong financial acumen, analytical curiosity, and the ability to work across data sources and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support membership analytics related to financial planning, forecasting, business performance, and growth initiatives
  • Analyze membership trends, enrollment movement, retention, attribution, and market-level performance drivers
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Actuarial, and business teams to understand business questions and deliver actionable insights
  • Support recurring forecast, budget, variance analysis, and performance management processes related to membership
  • Assist in identifying drivers of membership changes
  • Improve existing reporting processes through automation, standardization, and enhanced data quality
  • Manage multiple priorities while delivering accurate, timely, and business-relevant analysis
  • Build knowledge of Optum Health membership data, business models, and financial performance drivers

Required Qualifications:

  • 1.5 years of financial analysis and / or analytics experience
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and familiarity with P&L management
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working in a dynamic team environment
  • Demonstrated aptitude to learn and institute new processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 1 years of healthcare, payer, managed care, or related industry experience
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or other analytical programming tools
  • Experience with visual analytics or business intelligence software
  • Exposure to membership, revenue, enrollment, forecasting, or financial performance analytics

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
