Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Medical Records Associate functions as a member of a medical records team in support of the clinical and administrative staff in a fast-paced college health center. This position's primary responsibilities will be to manage incoming calls, scheduling medical appointments, and checking patients in for their appointments.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Greeting patients and visitors; answering questions about the Student Health Center services, including immunization compliance and the Student Health Insurance Plan.
  • Accurately entering information in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Managing records requests and providing support to the department. A commitment to customer service and confidentiality is required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience
  • Ability to function equally well as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities and frequent interruptions.
  • Experience working in a college health setting or medical office.
  • Experience with Banner and/or an Electronic Health Record.
  • Experience maintaining organizational website and/or social media presence.
