Job description

Job Overview
The Fabrication Administrator is responsible for coordinating, reviewing and maintaining fabrication related documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness throughout the fabrication life cycle. This role supports quality assurance, welding, inspection and shipping activities by managing travelers, weld logs, inspection records, and shipping documentation. The Fabrication Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining documentation integrity, supporting customer acceptance requirements, and ensuring effective communication between internal teams and third-party inspectors.
Primary Responsibilities:
Traveler Review & Documentation in Aerospace
    • Ensure completeness and accuracy of travelers, including operations, weld maps, drawings, RFIs, and required forms
    • Conduct QA reviews on MTRs, Welding, and NACE documentation
    • Maintain documentation standards and filing systems

Weld Log Management
    • Manage and maintain job specific weld logs, including accurate data entry and cross checking.

Shipping Coordination
    • Prepare, process and track shippers for outgoing materials
    • Coordinate shipping documentation, including uploading required records
    • Ensure all shipments are properly documented and communicated to internal teams
    • Deliver completed shipping records and documentation to the customer Acceptance Data Package (ADP)

Traveler Finalization
    • Verify all traveler pages for completeness and accuracy
    • Scan, file and organize finalized travelers in accordance with record keeping requirements.

Spreadsheet & Data Management
    • Maintain and update the JPD Fab Contract Spreadsheet
    • Create, organize and maintain job folders and related records
    • Update job statuses and track customer job numbers to ensure accurate reporting

Third Party Inspection Records
    • Manage, track and maintain third party inspection documentation, including Weld and NACE records

Education & Experience Required
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Associate Degree
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in fabrication, quality assurance, or a related industrial/manufacturing environment
    • Prior experience working with fabrication travelers, weld documentation, MTRs and inspection records are strongly preferred.
    • Excel Experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Strong understanding of fabrication and quality documentation process
    • High attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy and compliance
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and document controls systems
    • Ability to manage multiple jobs, priorities and deadlines simultaneously
    • Strong communication and coordination skills with internal teams and third-party inspectors
