Job description

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our team in Newberry, FL. The Maintenance Planner ensures equipment reliability and reduces downtime by effectively planning maintenance work with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials.

About the Role
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) for safety incidents (accidents/near misses)
  • Ensure contractor understanding, implementation, and consistent adherence to safe work rules and practices
  • Develop detailed, step-by-step task plans within work orders to clearly define the sequence of maintenance activities.
  • Determine the required manpower (number of personnel) and estimated duration for each task, including equipment downtime requirements.
  • Conduct field visits to review and validate the necessity, feasibility, and alignment of work re-quests with current plant conditions.
  • Allocate approximately 30% of time for on-site validation and 70% for work order management within the system.
  • Assess the availability of all required resources (materials, tools, manpower) and proactively address any shortages.
  • Provide support to Maintenance Coordinators in the development of weekly and outage sched-ules and maintenance programs.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in monthly budget tracking, performance reporting to the team, and the implementation of corrective actions for any deviations.
  • Monitor the availability of defined critical spare parts according to criticality studies
  • Maintain daily communication with the Purchasing department to track the progress of parts and supplies and prioritize critical orders.
  • Provide feedback to the Reliability Coordinator regarding planning requirements for updating maintenance plans. Achieve target compliance for monthly KPIs related to planning and scheduling effectiveness.

About You
We Require:
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which may include a physical, background check, and drug screen
  • Mechanical engineering experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in cement manufacturing or related industry as maintenance Inspector or Maintenance Planner
