Founded in 1920, Akerman is recognized as one of the nation’s premier law firms, with more than 700 lawyers across the United States. Akerman is seeking a Litigation Support Analyst to manage and support the operations and administration of the firm’s National eDiscovery practice. This role is ideal for a detailoriented professional who enjoys working at the intersection of operations, finance, analytics, and litigation support.

The successful candidate will work closely with attorneys, eDiscovery professionals, and the firm’s finance team to support project operations, reporting, billing, and client service initiatives across the firm’s eDiscovery matters.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize strong analytical, organizational, and problemsolving skills to ensure accuracy of invoices and financial reporting for internal and external clients
  • Prepare, review, and distribute client invoices
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial and operational reporting metrics
  • Track and collect payment activity and support accounts receivable processes
  • Perform project and data analysis using internal systems to provide timely metrics and billing insights in support of sales and client services
  • Track, secure, and manage digital media received from clients
  • Provide administrative and operational support to members of the eDiscovery practice team
  • Provide litigation support as needed
  • Assist with new project intake, project setup, and project closings
  • Prepare and disseminate reports to management and the firm’s finance department
  • Manage and support targeted litigation support projects as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of business operations experience; law firm or eDiscovery services provider experience is a plus
  • Understanding of standard accounting principles, practices, and procedures
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Customer servicedriven mindset with a professional and responsive approach
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and perform under pressure while maintaining a collaborative, teamoriented attitude
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problemsolving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in MS Excel
  • Smartsheet experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with time tracking and billing software is a plus
  • Ability to design and create both summarylevel and detailed reports, including ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Willingness to manage targeted litigation support and operational projects

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Law, Accounting, or a related field is preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
